The commissioner for environment, Dr Iyke NJOKU, has thanked the executive governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinmma for finding him worthy to serve under his government and also retaining him after a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The thank you message to the governor, Friends and family was issued on Saturday, 27th of march during the celebration of his one year in office.
The commissioner, in his statement, highlighted some of his achievements so far and enjoined his family, friends, political loyalists, and well-wishers to keep supporting the governor, celebrate the milestone of the governor in the State, and also attaining the joyous One year in office in good health and sound mind.
Iyke who organized a get together to appreciate and thank his friends who put themselves together, gave him and his teaming supporters, family and friends a surprise hosting during his swearing in on the 24th March 2020, without his financial commitment.
24th of march 2021 marked his one year in office, "today marks it one year of kindness, one year of pleasant surprises, one year of friendship and one year of brotherly love from you all. I thought it necessary to thank you, thank our prosperity governor who appointed me and still retained me one year after" he said.
The commissioner who used the occasion to preach the good work of the governor in the State, pleaded with his audience to always defend and support the shared prosperity government of senator Hope Uzodinmma.
He enlightened them on the issue of 10,000 ghost workers in the ministries, cleared the air on the issue of 50 Billion pension debt, and also encouraged and pleaded with everyone to go into planting of trees. That the population of trees should be More than the population of human beings in any society.
"I want to encourage everyone of you to go into tree planting, when trees are removed from the environment, such toxic gases like Carbon dioxide increase in concentration in the environment, and harm us. But with more trees planted, trees being the lungs of the environment absorb the toxic Carbon dioxide, utilize it for photosynthesis and give out to us Oxygen which we very much need for our survival".
" Felling of trees means increasing the concentration of green house gases like carbon dioxide in the environment. Everyone should therefore spread the message of plant one tree,fell no tree, except the tree is a threat to humanity".
Also, the commissioner expressed gratitude to God for rewarding Imolites with a pragmatic governor, whom has displayed a high sense of leadership, in directing the affairs of the state.
“Within one year in office, the people’s governor has displayed a high sense of leadership, which has created a seed of unity, endeared him to Imolites and surpassing the expectations of all.”
” While the chant of recession is hindering good governance in the country, the governor has worked diligently to ensure the pain associated with becomes a gain for the government and people of the state”
“As people from different strata of life beat the drum, all should be remindful that the singular reward needed by the governor is for them to support him with their ardent prayers to engineer him to perform beyond the expectation of man” He concluded.
The event which took place in owerri, witnessed the creme de la creme of Mbaise sons and daughters.
