The beautiful city of Owerri has been under reconstruction ever since the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma came into office.
From the restoration of Owerri master plan, down to the Urban Renewal Project (with Junction Improvement) now to the institution of the Imo State Traffic Management Agency - the Agency when fully birthed will help maintain sanity on the roads in Imo State and reduce the man hour lost every day to needless traffic jam caused by irresponsible driving by motorists.
You would agree to the fact that such agency was long over due and there is no appropriate time than now, to swiftly arrest the traffic gridlock caused by impatience, reckless driving and disobedience to traffic regulations and driving rules.
The city of Owerri and indeed other urban cities in Imo are well known to be impassable at various times of the day. This agency would train her personnel on traffic management system and driving rules. Professionalism would definitely not be ignored in the cause of their training.
The most beautiful aspect of this is the conversion of officers and men of the Imo Civil Guard into the Imo State Traffic Management Agency. This became necessary due to the moribund status of the Civil Guard officers and the need to create jobs for the teaming Imo populace.
The Agency would deploy her officers across the state for effective management of Traffic. Prior to now, there has been a concentration of such agency within Owerri Municipality, leaving behind other urban cities and satellite towns in similar situation. This new setup would toe a different line by decentralizing their operations.
This singular move by the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, would not just arrest traffic situation within the state but also, create jobs and improve on economic activities within the state
