ISIEC VISITS IKEDURU LGA, FOR SENSITIZATION ON THE UPCOMING LGA ELECTION

 

The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission , has commenced a statewide sensitization towards the upcoming local government in the state.

It was the turn of One of the foremost local government in the State, Ikeduru the home of the number two man in the state.

The ISiEC Chairman, Chief Mrs Onyenku thanked the leadership of the LGA for the warmth welcome, She further said election is an important part of democracy in any developed or developing nation and that at all level, elections should be taken seriously, she further urged the leadership of the LGA to assist in voter's education.

In her remarks, The Honourable Commissioner in the Commission, Hon. Mrs Jecinta Uchechukwu,  said that Rather than the present apathy and disenchantment in the Nigerian political and electoral processes, people must be reminded of their role not only in nation building by taking up challenges to either contest or support and bring in leaders and representatives that will cater and address their fundamental interests.

The Host, the amiable Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman,  Hon. Tony Jude thanked the commission for coming to Ikeduru for the visit and promise to make the LGA peaceful and conducive enough for the conduct of the election.
