Over a year now, every facet of life in Imo State has received a facelift from its comatose status to recossitation and bouncing back to life. This was and has been the sermon brought about by the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State, as he has been sharing prosperity with his team.
From the genesis of the administration, it was crystal clear that the messiah of Imo had arrived. He anchored a chain of masterwork on the 3R-mantra of reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery. These cardinal points have been a guiding principle in policy making and program implementation of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Just like the rising sun, with a quick and pragmatic approach, yet energetic in kinetics, His Excellency commenced his administration with a reform in the civil service sector of the state after meeting a dead "governance engine" - the civil service. With identified and conspicuous negations, ravaging and hampering the operation and optimal performance of the civil service viz-a-viz: the working condition (infrastructural decay); the materials and amenities necessary for operations; the system of bureaucracy-turned "ciminocracy" and finally but, obviously not the least, the welfare of civil servants.
One thing striking was the corruptible practice engaged by those entitled to guide the ban and checkmate the excesses of politicians, wherein they surreptitiously engaged in a satanic scheme simply identified as "payroll fraud". After several approach towards eradicating these, a final and lasting solution was arrived at - the migration of the welfare settlement system from the manual process to automation thereby eliminating the interference of human engagement, which was instrumental to the monumental fraud perpetrated under the scheme - today, it is a thing of joy to announce that salaries are being paid automatically every month with elimination of the old practice of "ghost workers" and illegal double earning from same employer.
Progressing, the Shared Prosperity administration further approached the plight of civil servants by the launching of a mass transit scheme for civil servants. The scheme covers various axis, conveying workers to and fro. This scheme hasn't been heard of before and it's launching has offered a seamless transportation for the civil servants.
The Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma beamed a light on the health system in the state and to the amazement of all, it was grossly in shambles. With the need for a quick fix and prompt fight against the global pandemic, which made landfall within the period, His Excellency directed immediate revival of three health care facilities, one per zone, to supplement the pressing need of an isolation center. These centers were equipped with necessary systems to appropriately combat the pandemic and records available speak volume of these measures.
Not satisfied with these, His Excellency launched the mobile clinics, operated by the team of medical professionals of the missionary. These mobile clinics, well equipped with medications and accessories were to serve as "first responders" in primary healthcare at the rural areas pending the complete rehabilitation of the existing infrastructures across the state.
On this healthcare system, the administration continues with the restructuring by giving a facelift to the Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu. From the restoration of electricity and water supply to the institution, down to the reconstruction of the swampy road into a smooth motorable road; not leaving behind the infrastructural reconstruction within the community.
For the first time in over ten years now, Imo State has enjoyed relative peace with the security apparatus and approach instituted by the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. From the Operation Search and Flush - coordinated by the state security agencies, down to the community policing which not only did it offer job opportunities to our people but also handed over their security within them - this approach eliminates the old practice of criminals taking refuge within a community at their mercy.
Owerri, the state capital, overtime submitted to the traffic gridlock experienced by cosmopolitan cities. While this points to the trajectory growth of the city and the state, its negative effect however has negative economic growth when not properly controlled. To this effect, the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma launched the Urban Renewal project, starting with the state capital, Owerri. This project would improve on the junctions and roundabouts within the state capital in order to seamlessly carry on the traffic, while easing flow of business. The project would also feature the construction of modern bus terminals at strategic points. While the project is ongoing, there is already an improvement of traffic flow within the state - this of course couldn't have been actualized without the road construction ongoing within the state and that brings us to the road construction.
The economic and social hardship occasioned by the deplorable state of the roads within the state, had hitherto continued hampering the life expectancy of the residents and road users. These were due to long term negligence by the previous handlers. However, the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma moved into action, reviewed contracts met on ground and approved various road constructions going on within the state. With various commissioning since inception, the administration has proven that truly, the people deserve quality infrastructures. The Owerri - Okigwe and Owerri - Orlu road roads remain critical and of economic importance to the state therefore, a focus on it and the award to a credible construction giant speaks volume of the understanding by the Shared Prosperity administration. Upon completion, these would not just boost economic activities but also enable construction of other connecting roads. The rural roads are also receiving attention.
The Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma injected energy and welfare into sports when he swiftly reconstituted the board of Heartland FC and renovated the Dan Ayiam Stadium. The Heartland FC has since been reflecting the attention received by the administration going by their consistent wins in recent time. Other sports bodies within the state have as well received the attention of the administration, with more underway.
The massive looting of state resources by the previous administrations contributed largely to the deplorable status of the state and this administration is poised towards the recovery of all state property illegally acquired by any individual or group of persons. This informed the decision of the Shared Prosperity administration in the adoption of the white paper report of the Judicial Commission of enquiry, gazetted and implementation ongoing.
With the commitment of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Imolites should be rest assured that every of our individual and collective properties in the possession of another, illegally, would be recovered legally.
As the Shared Prosperity administration progresses onward, Imolites should expect more of quality infrastructure improvement and favourable policies & programs as the administration is poised towards remodelling Imo State.
