The delegation from National Institute for Security Studies has paid a working visit to the Imo State owned Imo Palm Plantation, otherwise known as Adapalm, Unman Damn Bwara the leader of the delegation, has assured Imo people that he and the Institute would strive to collaborate with the company to consolidate the good work going on already.
Adapalm which is one of the foremost oil palm companies in the country was established in the second republic by the then governor of Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe, and had the capacity of producing palm oil, vegetable oil, soap, cream and other related items but became moribund some years after.
The Honourable Commissioner, Tourism and creative arts Bar. Doris Akubuo thanked the visiting team and the governor for bringing the place to life again, she said Adapalm is now profit-oriented and revenue -yielding such that people are enjoying the place as it was in the beginning.
She further assured that all the problems associated with land owners and workers of the company is now a thing of the past as the situation is now under control and has boosted its capacity and production.
Notable among the visitors are the Special Adviser on Culture and tourism, Hon Chief Agugbue Odionyemma and some directors from the ministry.
