The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ikeduru, Chief Tony Jude Iwuamadi has urged Christians to renew their hope in God and pray for the Senator Hope Uzodinma led administration in the State as they mark the 2021 Easter Celebration.
Chief Iwuamadi gave the charge in his Easter Message to the people of Ikeduru. He stated that Easter is the most important period in the lives of Christians because it is through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that Christians received salvation.
The council boss averred that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross is a true example of love and asked Christians to emulate such love and make sacrifices that will be beneficial to humanity.
He emphasized that Easter is not only about the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, but also to show some of the responses to the events surrounding his crucifixion and resurrection some 2000 years ago, which according to him are the same responses that we see today.
Chief Iwuamadi noted that these responses which are mostly hinged on our relationships with God and our neighbours could trigger positive narratives in the society if Christians abide by the lessons of Easter.
The vibrant Chairman admitted that the situations in the country are challenging due to the global economic downturn and disruptions occasioned by the Covid -19 pandemic, but admonished Christians to renew their hope in the victory of Christ over death and expect the situations to improve, especially with the visible efforts of His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma to turn things around in the State.
Chief Tony Jude Iwuamadi appealed to the people of Ikeduru to continue to pray for the State Governor, and wished the leaders and the entire people of Ikeduru a Happy Easter celebration.
