The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and state Orientation, Barr Orji Uchenna Orji, has called on Ebonyi youths to use the social media in promoting peace and development.
Barr. Orji made the call while while playing host to members of Ohaukwu Youth Congress who paid him a courtesy visit in Abakaliki.
According to the Commissioner; Youths, at this moment when there are security issues across the country, must endeavour to protect their future, as true leaders of tomorrow by ensuring that they remained agents of peace.
He noted that youths of the state were known to be law abiding and peaceful because of the way and manner the governor had developed the state, while carrying them along in state government programmes and policies.
Barr Orji, maintained that the youths should remain partners of state government in its campaign for peace and peaceful coexistence.
He advised that security matters should not be left in the hands of government alone, as the country would be a better place if security were taken as everyone's business.
The Information boss however decried unemployment and other socioeconomic challenges as major contributors to youth restiveness, but disclosed that the Ebonyi state government under Engr Chief David Umahi has carried along the youths of the state in the various government empowerment programmes and therefore enjoined them to use the social media to promote peace and tranquility in the society while appreciating their roles in bringing about peace to the troubled areas of Ohaukwu local government area.
Earlier in his speech, the Chaiman of Ohaukwu Youth Congress, Engr Comrade Ephraim Eze, appreciated the Commissioner, Uchenna Orji on his image making strategies which had finely projected the strides of the Engr Chief David Umahi led Administration in the global map.

"Your performance in the state information sector has expediently communicated to all Ebonyi sons and daughters at home and diaspora, that their home (Ebonyi State) is now the most developing city for the type of business investment and activities in the sub-saharan Africa"
"Sir, we are mostly thrilled by the love and care of the youths convivial Governor of Ebonyi state, thus the eminent need of this visit"
"It is an understatement to say that we heartily appreciate the unique and lofty expectations of our dear governor by educating and empowering the youths for self reliance and entrepreneurship.
The group appreciated the Governor's youth friendly disposition which according to them was reflected in the recent ENDSARS youth summit with Ohaukwu youths forming part of major beneficiaries as well as the dualization of Abakaliki- Enugu Expressway, construction of the pedestrian bridge at the EBSU permanent site, Ezzamgbo, Construction of the gigantic flyover at Ezzamgbo junction and construction of the 2nd Nkwo Izhia bridge among others.
