The immense impact of His Excellency Gov Hope Uzodimma on Ministry of Youths and Sports upon assumption of office as the Executive Governor of Imo state have crossed pass mark.
This great success recorded today was achieve with the appointment of Hon Daniel Oguh as Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports, subsequently Rt Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu as House Committee Chairman on Youths, Sports and Entrepreneurship.
_UZODIMMA'S IMPACT IN SPORTS SECTOR_
Gov. Uzodimma after swearing-in embarked on massive renovation of Dan Anyiam Stadium to International standard. The stadium which have recorded no matches due to deplorable conditions was left unattended-to by past administrations in the state starting with Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha.
Talking about the welfare of the players & sundry, Gov Uzodimma procured and furnished campsite for Heartland FC and it's officials with state of art facilities in place; Also prompt payments of salaries, match bonuses and recently gifting of 2 brand new coaster vans to aid movement of players and officials.
Imo State Sports Ministry is now well equiped and up-to-date to train their athletes in any aspects of sports, (Football⚽, handball 🤾, basket ball ⛹️, long tennis 🎾, shortput, Table 🎾 Tennis, Long jump, cycling 🚴, rally 🏃 etc.
With the just concluded National Sports Festival held at Edo state, Imo contingents made Imo state proud by clinching overall 10th position and 1st Position among South-Eastern states carting home with 10 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 26 bronze medals in the just concluded Edo 2020 National Sports Festival. Abia came 14th, Anambra 17th, Enugu 22 and Ebonyi 26th position.
Imo is fully back to its glorious days.
