GOV UZODIMMA 54KM OWERRI-OKIGWE ROAD WILL BENEFIT IKEDURU - DR. BATOS ...Says: Ikeduru dear to Gov Uzodinma. ...Inaugurates Shared Prosperity Ambassadors



The ongoing 54 kilometers Owerri-Okigwe Road construction embarked upon by the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma has been described as a project that would benefit Ikeduru immensely.

The Special Adviser on Political Matters to Imo Governor, Dr Batos Nwadike stated this on Thursday 29th April 2021, while addressing Ikeduru people during the Shared Prosperity Sensitisation Tour to Ikeduru held at council headquarters Iho.

The Special Adviser on Political Matters who highlighted the achievements of Governor Uzodimma so far, noted that Ikeduru remains strategic and dear to the Governor which according to him was the reason the Governor chose his deputy, Professor Placid Njoku from Ikeduru.

Dr Batos informed that the road was awarded to an acclaimed global construction giant, Craneburg for quality job, adding that roads built by the Governor were designed to last for 25 years.

Dr. Batos further explained that the Governor has paid  ninety-eight percent of salaries of Imo workers, after the governor  em barked on verification and according to him, discovered monumental fraud in the civil service and local government payrolls system.


While urging Ikeduru people to stand firm with their son, the deputy Governor, he further hinted that the opposition has allegedly been peddling false information over the issue of  payment of pensions and salaries.

The Special Adviser on Political disclosed that aside the position of deputy governor, Ikeduru benefited from appointments of three S.As among others.


Meanwhile Dr Batos Nwadike expressed joy over the intervention of Governor Uzodimma which he said, led to the settlement of the rift between two frontline leaders in Ikeduru- Chief Charles Amadi (Charvon) and Dr Uzoma Obiyo; he opined that now Ikeduru can speak with one voice.

Responding, a former commissioner in the state, Engr Obinna Nshirim said Ikeduru remains intact with Governor Uzodimma disclosing that Ikeduru gave the Governor the highest votes in results that were validated by the apex court. He also described the governor as good man.

 The APC zonal woman leader, Hon Stella Njoku maintained the Governor deserves total support of Ikeduru people especially, with the ongoing Owerri-Okigwe Road. He also described the governor as a capacity leader with great reputation.

Moving and seconding  a motion for vote of confidence on Governor Uzodinma administration, Dr Tony Nkemakolam and Barr Uche Osuji said the governor has done well to deserve Ikeduru's support. The vote of confidence was unanimously passed in the affirmative.

The IMC Chairman Hon Tony Iwuamadi opined that the Governor has passion to selflessly work for the people while reemphasizing that the political leaders of the council area are in one page and very much loyal to the Shared Prosperity government ably led By His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma.


Highpoint of the event was the inaugurated of Shared Prosperity Ambassadors of Ikeduru by the

 SA Political which include Hon Sam Amaonu, Hon Ugochukwu Urewuji, Mrs. Akudo Iheanocho, Mrs Oby Egejuru, Chief Damian Ibe, Chief Patrick Onyejiuwa, Amb. Chibuzor (Ezeiche) , Bar. Uche Osuji, Dr. Tony Nkemakolam, Engr. Mike Oparaocha, Hon. Engr Obinna Nshirim, Hon Reginald Egbusim, Chief Joe Ohaegbulam and Hon Narzrius Nwachukwu; He  equally charged them to be the eye of the Governor in the area.


Traditional rulers,councillors, presidents general, women and youth leaders were present at the event.
