Governor Hope Nwa Uzodimma can rightly be described as a Governor or leader who is in a class of his own. He is obviously raising the bar of responsible, accountable, purposeful and deliverable leadership, never seen since Imo state was manufactured or created in 1976. I say this at no fear of contradiction.
However, certain facts about him must be laid bare here which, I think distinguishes him from the crowd. These are attributes that are rare or are lacking in the blood group of some leaders but which are necessary for a purposeful leadership. In order words, without these attributes, there is problem in the general administration of a society.
GREED: Governor Uzodimma is one man who cannot be accused of being greedy even by his enemies. He lives moderately and understands the difference between one spending his/her private money and spending public funds. Unprecedentedly, this is the first time at least in recent past in the state that we are having a Governor who spent one year plus now without any story of acquisition of earthly properties or at least expansion of village or urban houses. Greed can make a leader to derail as it did to the Governor we had recently. Indeed this is worth emulating.
CAlM AND CALCULATIVE: Governor Uzodimma is always relaxed and works with a military precision. He moves when it is most necessary and retraces his steps at the appropriate time. He does not act on impulse neither does he get easily angered. This is indeed a good attribute of a good leader and this is worth emulating.
MILK OF HUMAN KINDNESS: Unlike some leaders, Governor Uzodimma has a living conscience. He has compassion and very passionate to the plight of the needy. He does not stand the sight of a suffering person. He can give out his last Kobo just to assist people. You hardly can see anybody including some of those in opposition who has come across to him in the past who does not have one story of a favour or the other done to him or her by Governor Uzodimma both as a private or public person.
DOGGED IN ACTION BUT MEEK IN POSTURE: This is one man you dare not put into a fighting mood else you get knocked down. He does not pick fights unnecesarilly but when he is challenged, he does not loose any fight. His has a unique style of fighting. He keeps his strategy to his chest and you can only see the results unlike some leaders who reveal their strategy consciously or unconscuously and at the end they always fail. This is an attribute that is worth imitating.
RELIANCE IN GOD: Governor Uzodimma, perhaps unknown to many does not do anything without first seeking the face and approval of God. And that is why he always win all his battles of life and triumphs over his challenges. He is always down on his knees but up on his problems. Leaders should emulate this.
JOVIAL AND SOCIAL: Yes, he is. He can make you laugh and forget your problems with his jokes when you meet him. He cracks jokes and he is a good mixer outside his official duties. He can make you never to leave his sight if you are with him. He is a wonderful character to be with any day, any time. There is no full moment if you are with him.. Leaders should please emulate him.
A GIFTED PROBLEM SOLVER: Governor Uzodimma can change bad situation to a better one. No problem shakes him and he can make a seeming insumoutable problems to appear sumoutable. He does not believe in impossibity as for him, impossibility only exists in the minds of the weak. He has an idea on how to solve problem. I think this is also worth emulating.
