IMO WOMEN PRAYER SUMMIT 2021: IMO FIRST LADY CHALLENGES WOMEN TO PRAY FOR TURNAROUND IN THE NATIONS STATE OF AFFAIRS

Imo women have been challenged to rise up and cry for divine intervention from the present state of insecurity and sociopolitical challenges confronting the state and nation. The Wife of the Imo Governor, Barr Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, gave this charge during the Imo state women prayer summit held at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre, on Saturday April, 17 2021.

The Imo first lady drawing reference from Biblical instances of Divine intervention in the books of 2 Chronicles chapter 20 and Jeremiah 29, when God's people prayed,  expressed confidence that when Imo women rise to intercede for the land God will hear and bring the desired turnaround as she further called for increased sense of patriotism among the women both political class and the masses.

The guest Preacher, and Chairperson, Women wing of  Christian Association of Nogerian (WOWICAN), Pastor Mrs Ebipador Korie, delivering a sermon on "Standing in the gap", called on women not to neglect their intercessory role as mothers, admonishing that women must not keep quiet when wickedness, insecurity, violence, bloodshed, and broken homes are on the increase. " Women if only you will rise up and cry that our land be healed, our husbands and children restored, God is waiting to hear our cry to come down and deliver us. Do not keep quiet and our people are being butchered and blood is flowing on our streets. Do not keep quiet, stand in the gap for your country, marriages, business, sources of livelihood and every issue of concern to you. Face God , deny yourselves Facebook, WhatsApp, chatting on social media , T.V for some time and face God." ,Past. Ebipador Korie advised.

The prayer summit was attended by the Deputy Governor's wife, Dr Mrs Bola Njoku, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr Mrs Irene Chima, Commissioner for Women affairs and vulnerable group, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere ugwu, Wife of the speaker Imo state House of assembly, female legislators, wives of state legislators, Commissioners, female political appointees, wives of  political appointees, female permanent secretaries, CWO members, NCWS national Secretary and members, Army and police wives, our physically challenged sisters, and women from all segments of society, too numerous to mention.

The programme featured  praise and worship sessions by the Government house Choir, intercessory and prayer topics for the healing of our land and state and for our leaders, led by Hon. Lady Treasure Ahanonu. Prayers were also organized by the Chair ladies in all the local governments simultaneously, same day. It was indeed great spending time in the presence of the Lord. Our land must be healed.

TO GOD BE ALL GLORY!!
