The Committee made up of some Members of Local Government Advisory Committee and officials of Ministry of Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution is presently meeting with the people of Agba and Agbaebor in Ishielu and Onicha Local Government Areas respectively, over land dispute between the two sister communities.
The Committee was set up recently by the Honourable Commissioner for Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, to mediate on the matter and ensure that peace reigns in the area.
The Members of the Committee include, Mr. Igu Chikezie who serves as Chairman, Hon. Ogbuefi Zaccheaus Ifeuwabundidi, Mr. Godwin Nwoba, Mrs. Nkechi Anya Okorie and Mr. Simon Agbo who are the Head of Administration and Planning, Research & Statistics in the Ministry, respectively.
However, the Head of Border Peace in the Ministry, Mr. Igwurube Martin Ifeanyi is ably representing the Honourable Commissioner at the mediatory meeting.
The Co-ordinators of Ezekoma and Onicha Development Centres, Hon. Umazu Godwin and Hon. Prince Chima Udeumanta respectively, are all in attendance.
Meanwhile, the meeting is well attended by both invited parties as it attracted the presence of some Government Functionaries from the area, including a Technical Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Ogbonnaya Nwani.
It is taking place at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Old Government House, Abakaliki.
