An illustrious son of Mbaike, astute political leader and acclaimed philanthropist, Prince Charles Amadi also known as Charlvon, has stressed the need for unity and love among the people of Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Local Government Areas otherwise called Mbaike.
Prince Amadi stated this during an interactive session between Mbaike Forum and members of Ogbaku Club in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, as part of the sensitization tour of communities in the area by the Forum on Tuesday.
Prince Amadi, who is also the President and Chief Convener of Mbaike Forum - a non-partisan movement established to advance the cause of the area, thanked members of Ogbaku Club for the opportunity to meet with them and urged Mbaike sons and daughters to eschew hatred, selfishness, mischief making, envy and pettiness but work on those ideals that will reposition Mbaike on the path of greatness especially given the numerical strength of the area, which is an added political advantage.
He said that Mbaike people should speak with one voice and give block vote to a preferred candidate just like their counterparts in other Local Government Areas of Owerri Zone.
He lamented that pride, carelessness and inability of Mbaike people to come together as one family, has cost the area a lot in terms of political benefits and socio-economic development and said that such must discontinue.
Prince Amadi disclosed that membership of Mbaike Forum is open for every indigene and urged the people to support Governor Hope Uzodimma massively as such comes with inumerable benefits.
In his remarks, the honourable Commissioner for Special Projects, Barrister Kingsley Ononuju, affirmed what Prince Amadi said adding that nations of the world concentrate on areas they have comparative advantage and in the case of Mbaike, the focus should be on the huge population of the area, which can deliver any Governor.
Responding, the President of Ogbaku Club, Engineer Ken Ohaegbula, thanked the President of Mbaike Forum for initiating the movement, stressing that it is a legitimate aspiration for Mbaike to say that we want to produce next Governor of Imo State at the expiration of the Uzodimma administration in 2027.
Engineer Ohaegbula condemned the concept of sharing money during election in stead of using it to do developmental projects stressing that good work should follow the leg walk.
He advised that the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, should embark on projects, which will benefit the people adding that if he does that, it will be easy for him to win. He equally advised that Mbaike Forum should continue the engagement process, promising that Ogbaku will support the movement so long as there is commitment.
Prince Charles Amadi and his large entourage later went to Umunoha, a Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, on a condolence visit to Nze Ugochukwu Nnawuihe, who recently lost his dear mother.
Prince Charles Amadi was accompanied on the visit by leaders of Mbaike from across the political divide and the two Local Government Chairmen namely, Chief John Eke of Mbaitoli and Chief Tony Jude Iwuamadi for Ikeduru.
