A leading aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the November 6 Governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu consulted with party stakeholders in Anambra north zone.
At the meeting which took place at Asaba on Sunday 23rd of May 2021, Dr. George Moghalu unveiled his plan for the development of Anambra north to the excitement of party stakeholders from the zone.
Addressing the stakeholders, Dr. Moghalu who is the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) explained that Anambra north has the capacity to sustain the whole southeast in terms of agriculture if the excessive flooding could be curtailed. To further buttress his point and to show how much thought he has given to the plight of the people, Dr Moghalu detailed a few practical solutions on how to tackle the problem.
According to him, I am very happy with the organisers of this meeting because this platform will enable some of you to know me to some reasonable extent and also help everyone at this zone to do a critical analysis of all the candidates without sentiment.
November 6th election will be the most competitive one and our party can't afford to go out to the election without our best. It is important to note that the harmony of the political elite will come into play after the primary election. On this note, we must produce a candidate that is capable of attracting their support as a person and can defend our party with what Mr. President has done for southeast.
There is something that stands me out among the political class in Anambra state and I stand to be challenged, I have remained in one political party from 1999 till date which shows consistency in my character and I believe that it is time to reward my loyalty.
I have verifiable experience in both public and private sectors . It is on record that since 42 years onistha river port was created, it was only last year within my 1st 13months in office as NIWA MD that the first commercial batch arrived onitsha port. The port will be a port of destination within a short while. By the grace of God , I have shown that I have the credibility, knowledge and ability to run an organization. He concluded by saying “I am coming to this business of governance with experience and the knowledge of the dynamics of governance.
Some major APC stakeholders in the zone including Chief Rauf Okeke, Dr.Emeka Aniegbunam, Chief Ifeanyi , Engr Onyedibe and others said through Ohamadike’s presentation he has rekindled their belief that a government can actually be committed to addressing the core needs of the people.
“Ohamadike Nnewi is a man who has garnered experience across the various areas of endeavor where he has delved into and also he has distinguished himself as a pragmatic leader. His experience and character speaks to that and it is no gainsaying that if given the opportunity, he will do well,”.
On her part, the State APC woman leader, Hon. Calista said the forum is in line with the tenets of democracy and will ensure that people hold their leaders to deliver on their promises to them.
“It is heartwarming that we are getting things right this time. It is very important that anyone who wants to lead the people should share his or her vision and the people be allowed to make imputs or ask questions. Governance is all about the people and what Chief Moghalu has done is quite commendable. It simply shows that he is prepared for what is ahead.
