CONSUMERS ARE SAVED UNDER GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA

For years in Imo state, the need for a working Consumer Protection Council has not been felt despite its presence and this has given room for the proliferation of fake and substandard products in the market. This unchecked products over the years continues to find its way into the market and when consumed by the public becomes harmful and in worst cases leads to death.

The need for public awareness and enlightenment on the dangers of fake and substandard products have become important especially in a system where everybody wants to be rich at the expense of others and indulging in some unwholesome acts not minding its effects. This is why the CPC have risen to the challenges and on red alert to create the necessary avenues to inform the public about the infiltration of fake and substandard products in the market which are harmful to their health.

The coming onboard of Gov. Hope Uzodimma has brought back hope and has become a morale booster for the Imo CPC. The appointment of Hon. Mrs. Lucy Obioma was a resuscitation measure to put back the agency on the right track and since then the narratives has changed as massive campaigns, awareness and enlightenments on fake and substandard products are in high gear through the various media outlets as well as those fake and substandard products been detected and destroyed in the state.

It has become a routine line of duty that for the CPC as its enforcement team are all over the markets in the state confiscating fake and adulterated products which are immediately destroyed. This has proven that it is no longer business as usual where the CPC was reduced to a nomenclature but are seriously working for the protection of the consumers of goods in the state.

All these has proven that the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma stands tall against fake and substandard products in the state and will go to any length to wage war against counterfeit products so far the lives of Imolites are well protected.

The Imo CPC has come alive under this present administration just as the cases of fake and substandard products are becoming a thing of the past in the state which is a clear indication that Gov. Hope Uzodimma is making sure that products are wholesome and safe for human consumption and Imolites are thankful to the governor for reviving CPC in imo state.

It is therefore noteworthy to appreciate the efforts of Gov. Hope Uzodimma for investing hugely in the imo CPC which goes a long way in speaking volume of his personality and the type of governance his administration represents especially one with a human face and feeling irrespective of who is involved.
