Speech Delivered by His Excellency, Dist. Sen Hope Uzodimma when he received Nwangele LGA Stakeholders.

"We are at the point of completing the indoor sports complex of the Dan Anyiam Stadium. By the grace of God, we shall name it after Dick Tiger"~Uzodimma

"There is no political party you will form in Imo State that the members will not be Imo people.

At a time it was the NPP and NPN, at another time it was the NRC and SDP. In 1999 it became PDP. We were all members of the PDP. Party will come, and party will go, but our people will remain.

"I am here as governor under the banner of APC. But that does not mean I will not recognize my brothers in other political parties. When you go into the forest and hunt down an animal, you go and look for your brothers.

We all know ourselves. What we want is what will benefit our people. No need for quarels and in-fighting. The dividends of democracy will go round.

"For our late hero, Dick Tiger Ihetu. What is befitting of his name is something permanent that will immortalize his name forever. This will not stop us from holding tournaments in his honour.

There are elections you can rig, but for Town Union elections you cannot rig it. It is an election of kinsmen. Communities should handle the elections of their town unions.

Town Unions are not institutions that operate on political party membership. Town Unions are for the communities.

A Town Union President should  be a man that commands the respect of his community. Somebody who can summon the people and they will answer. A Person trusted by the community. Those are the people worthy of town union presidency.
