The honourable commissioner for sports in Imo state of Nigeria, Hon. Dan Ogu who was crowned 'The Golden Commissioner' congratulates Nigeria's number one ranked Para-Athletics discus player, Chituru Nwaozuzu who won a gold 🥇🪙 medal in Notwil, Switzerland.
Imo-born Chituru already qualified for the Tokyo olympics before travelling to Switzerland with other members of the Team Nigeria contingent for the Para-Athletics championship that also serves as qualifier for the upcoming global event.
Ogu praised Nwaozuzu's vibrancy, tenacity & and doggedness against all odds and for being a worthy ambassador of Imo state in particular and Nigeria as well as Africa at large.
"I congratulate Chituru Nwaozuzu for Imo state proud on the world stage by winning a gold medal in faraway Switzerland. There is no doubt about your abilities which you have always proved over the years. You are great at what you do. You have always made us proud and Ndi Imo and Nigerians are solidly behind you", the commissioner stated.
Hon. Ogu charged Nwaozuzu not to rest on her oars and triple her efforts in training for the challenges ahead as she seek to make the podium at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
He also applauded governor Hope Uzodinma for leading the way in the revival of sports in Nigeria's Eastern Heartland as he aims at diversifying the economy of the state through sports and developmental programmes.
