An Anambra State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the forthcoming State Elections, Col. (Arc) Geoff Onyejegbu, Ph.D., (Retd), visited the Party's National Secretariat this afternoon to submit his Governorship Nomination Form.
The aspirant who was accompanied by a large delegation, comprising family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers, was received by the National Secretary of the Party, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, Ph.D.
Among the visiting delegation were the aspirant's wife (Nneka); Prince Jeremy Orizu (son of late Dr. Nwafor Orizu-Nigeria's first Senate President); and some of his military colleagues including: Maj. Gen. Garba Audu, Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Etim Bassey; Brig. Garba Kachallah; and Col. Abdulaziz Yaradua (all Retired).
Also in the visiting delegation were: Barr. Barth Okpala; Ichie Ejie; and Mr. Ugo Agbanusi (the DG) is
Dir. Research and Strategy; Campaign Council Chairman; and Campaign DG respectively, of the aspirant's political structure; as well as members of the APC Aspirants Forum.
Honourable J.P. Offor and Honourable Uche (the APC Chapter Chairman and Secretary respectively of the aspirant's LGA) as well as the Ward Chairman and Youth Representative were also present.
The delegation thanked the National Secretary for receiving them warmly, noting that they hadn't been more welcome before; while the Party Secretary assured them of an enabling environment, and the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and discipline within the powers and responsibilities of the Party, during the elective process.
He said the Party had no preferred or annointed candidate, but opened the floor to all; while urging that the aspirant and others, conduct themselves according to the provisions of Nigerian law, the regulations of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) and Party guidelines.
