The Non Indigenous people living in Nnewi South Local Government of Anambra State has endorsed and supported the gubernatorial aspiration of Chief Dr. George Moghalu ahead of 2021 Anambra State governorship election.
Mr. Nwoga Titus Chukwuka, the Coordinator of the group revealed this on Sunday, June 13, 2021 in their monthly meeting which was graced by representatives of the All Progressives Congress chieftain, Chief Dr. George Moghalu (Ohamadike), Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority.
Mr. Nwoga stated that they are supporting and mobilising other non indigenous people in the State for the NIWA Boss because of his sterling leadership qualities and commendable footprints at NIWA, saying:
"This endorsement was a welI-thought out decision which has become exigent after extensive deliberations and consultations with key stakeholders in the State after giving due considerations to the manifestos of each aspirant”.
Speaking also, the woman leader of the group, Mrs. Ify Solomon noted that the group has no doubt that Chief Dr. George Moghalu represents the “new Hope” of which the State is in dire need.
She added: “Chief Dr. George Moghalu’s antecedent speaks volume of his rare qualities of transparency, financial discipline, accountability and fairness.
He represents the vision and passion for a greater Anambra State and we are proud to have endorsed his candidature and eventual succession as the Governor of Anambra State. We are of the ardent belief that his strategic focus will certainly build a better tomorrow filled with opportunities, unity and hope for Ndi Anambra”.
She finally affirmed that a vote for Chief Dr. Moghalu is a vote for economic prosperity, infrastructural development and most importantly, qualitative governance and institutional reforms. Hence, the group will activate with immediate effect its political structures and mechanisms, embark on door-to-door campaign which have been used to achieve ground breaking and historic feats in Anambra State so as to ensure that Chief Dr. George Moghalu is elected as the next Governor of Anambra State.
The representatives of Chief Dr Goerge Moghalu at the meeting; Mr. Matthew Okwuegbu and Curtis Okeke in company with Chief Alaoma Nzeocha thanked the group for their support and for adding their voices to that of other groups who have been demanding that Chief Dr. Moghalu contest for the number one position in the state in 2021. He described Dr. Moghalu as a detribalized Nigerian and a great leader who does not discriminate but carries everyone along in his manner of leadership, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation.
