The greatest talking point in our dear State, Anambra, since last week has been the declaration by Chief Dr. George Nnadubem Moghalu that he would seek to run for the number one political stool in the State.
Wednesday, 28th April was the day when the joy kiln in many people hearts were rekindled. Reason? That was the D-day when Chief Dr. George Moghalu officially threw his hat into the ring, to some people it was like when Romeo was beholding her Juliet. The sea of people that gathered at Anambra State APC Secretariat, Awka were so inspiring. These are wise Anambrarians from all works of life who have gathered to throw their weight round a man who they knew have come to serve with all his heart and for altruistic reasons.
Chief Dr Moghalu is not a man that just wants to grab power, and return the State to business as usual and consign it to gross backwardness and underdevelopment.
He can be trusted. You can trust him with the resources of the State; he won’t filch them. You can trust him with power; he won’t misuse it. You can trust him with the well being of the land; he cares. To him, this precious saying bequeathed to mankind holds true any day, any time: “greatest good to the greatest number of people”. Under his watch, there will be no foul play. The voices and will of the people will never be subverted. Just like the dictum of “vox populi, vox deux” says.
Putting people first is his signature tune. Hence, his message of “Anambra ga-adikwa mma ozo” which translates to “making Anambra State Great Again’’ remains a catch-phrase that rekindles hope. His coming will truly rejuvenate the civil service, overhaul the education and health sectors, thereby making the people the focus of his policies. Likewise, the infrastructural upgrade of the State, human capacity development and mentoring of new leaders. In short, he is “the treasure we’ve been waiting for” as musician Simi sang in her inspiring song, “Duduke”.
With Chief Dr George Nnadubem Moghalu, a new dawn, new visitation is coming our way. We can see the Promised Land and this time nothing should stop us from stepping into it.
Now that we have seen a man who has come to make the difference, let us stand by him and show our massive love to the man who first loved us, and is here to serve us with all that is in him.
