APC youth leader in Imo State, Hon Desmond Ajuruchi (Odogwu Deka), has called on Imo youths to shun violence, embrace peace and cordiality, come together to resolve issues within themselves in order to help return Imo to the old good days, rather than listen to falsehood or be deceived by evil politicians with selfish political and economic interests to cause violence and dampen economy and social comfort in Imo State.
Ajuruchi, in an interview with our reporter at APC Secretariat, Owerri, last week, called on Imo youths to shun violence, remain law abiding while working with the security, government and other germane bodies to restore peace and calmness in Imo, saying peace and security are good and should be upheld and not violated for even social economic advancement and confidence.
"May Imo prevail. As a matter of fact, we, youths of Imo, have totally condemned the heinous attacks in Imo and the entire South East. We do not make trouble because we are hardworking people who love good life, peace and we are travellers, fun- loving people. Let us resolve issues within ourselves and return to the good old days. We should not listen to false information which is always devastating. We have only one state- hence we need to join hands to restore peace and calmness in Imo", Ajuruchi stated.
The APC state youth leader, who debunked the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for calling on Governor Hope Uzodimma to resign over what it termed as worsening insecurity in Imo where innocent people, security personnel are being killed, property being destroyed, said "the utterances by the PDP had again shown its vindictiveness. PDP was in power for donkey years - it owned everything. It has today lost the glory of its golden days due to greed and bad governance. Positive change is constant. It was shameful that the PDP is asking Uzodimma to resign. PDP said it will make Imo ungovernable if it lost in the supreme court. Uzodimma's achievements triggered PDP's anger to malign his government to gain people's sympathy and support and we are going to resist any attempt to destabilize Imo.
Ajuruchi stressed that "politics should not be played at extreme points and should not be seen as a do or die affair. Do not spill blood of any innocent imolite. No body is worth dying for because of dirty politics. God gives power, not APC, not even PDP. Uzodimma struggled to reclaim his stolen mandate at the court and should be supported to develop Imo and restore the lost glory of the state which he has started doing especially on road construction and rehabilitation across the state. Let peace and calmness be restored in Imo State".
