His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma has demonstrated his ability by exerting his capacity under very strained circumstances. From the dark days of the Covid 19 Pandemic to the ENDSARS protests including the recent anomaly’s in the state , His excellency has been professional and attentive to issues concerning Imo state .
An able leader , who refused to be swayed by distractors , but rather is devoted to paying attention to matters of concern , such as improving the security situations in the state. On the 3rd of June 2021 His Excellency initiated a new security design with the IMC Chairmen and the Traditional rulers from the 27 Local Goverment Areas. This signifies that His Excellency understands the essence of being meticulous on security issues and also indicates that His excellency is doing exactly what is expected of him and we applaud him for that.
THE MINISTRY FOR BUDGET,ECONOMIC PLANNING AND STATISTICS
Let me outline briefly His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma’s achievements in the midst of this chaotic situation in the state. I have picked two Ministries.
The ministry for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics under the administration of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma introduced an open budget system based on the principle of enabling the people of Imo state participate and understand the budget process, which is the first of its kind.
You can access it online by Logging on to www.Imostategov.ng where the entire Imo State Budget is being published in Igbo dialect and English and it also enables the public to participate in the budgetary process.
According to the Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics Rt Hon C.C. Osuala, under the administration of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma, the quarterly report of the Ministry for Budget ,Economic Planning and Statistic’s was always published on time and were in line with the world Bank standard and thus it attracted a total of 2.5 million US Dollars to Imo State. In fact the Ministry has brought over “15 Million US Dollars into Imo Coffers and that came as grants not loans that can be paid back” he highlighted.
About 30,000 indigent families across the 27 local Government Areas in Imo state are now benefiting from the grants which was paid by the Federal Government , thanks to our Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Rt Hon C.C. Osuala Commissioner for Budget,Economic Planning and Statistic expressed that “ His Excellency has exhibited a very high level of care to the people, ensuring that they have food on their table is the essence of a caring governance “.
The funds for the grant paid to Imo State was the first of its kind in the entire southeast . Imo state was awarded $5,000,000 because the 2020 revised budget took into cognisance how Covid 19 Pandemic was handled by the His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma.
It is worthy to note that the Hon Commissioner C.C .Osuala has made it his obligation to transform an administrative ministry to a revenue generating ministry, which is in line with His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma 3R prosperity Agenda.
So while the opposition are trying to disrupt our government, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma has remained focused in making Imo state safe again and great again.
