As cases of insecurity and criminal attacks on men and facilities of various security formations in the country continues to rise on daily basis, particularly in the southeast region of the country, a group under the aiges of Imo Community Leaders' Forum has discribed the urgly situation unwarranted, callous and despicable.
The group in it's submission bemoaned the unconscionable lost of men and officers of our security agencies, which they described as gross insensitivity to humanity. According to the group, in the past few months, the violent and criminal activities of the unknown gunmen in the eastern part of Nigeria have taken a great toll on the lives of security personnel.
In their statistics, the Nigerian Police Force has lost a total of 78 officers, Nigeria Army 38, 5 Naval officers, 7 Air Force, NSCDC 15, as well as 31 members of the local community policing network.
According to the group "reports shows that 80% of the security personnel so far killed are from the eastern part of the country"
They described the as worrisome, unfair and senseless a situation where security personnel that are guarding our lives and properties are recklessly killed by the unknown gun men in imo state. They further hailed the courage of the governor to mobilize and activate every necessary security architecture to arrest the urgly situation as no serious government will stand by and watch the lives of security personnel and that of it's citizens to be destroyed.
They however appealed to the public to encourage and support the security agencies and boost their morale to restore our security and peace.
