In continuation of celebration of the International day of the African Child, Imo State First Lady Barr. (Mrs) Chioma Uzodimma, on Friday June 25, 2021, yet again visited some schools in Okigwe and Orlu zones. Imo first lady was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, who was accompanied by the Director of Child, Mr. Benjamin Amaefule, Social workers from the ministry and other Aides and Media of the Ministry.
Thier first stop was at Mercy nursery and primary school Okwelle, Onuimo local Government Area. From Okwelle, the team proceeded to, Community school 2 and Community school 4, in Dikenfai Ideato South local Government. The Commissioner and her team were warmly received by the school headmistress, teachers and students. The team interacted with the students while informing the pupils that the wife of Imo State Governor, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma wants them to have a great childhood and a wonderful future. Ugwu encouraged them to be obedient to their parents and teachers so they can accomplush all their hearts desires and be celebrated in their communities and state.
The highlight of the event was the sharing of the gift bags from Her Excellency, which was filled with goodies and school supply. There were smiles, dancing, singing and happinness on the children's faces. The children were overjoyed and sent greeting across to imo first lady while praying for God to bless our first family and our state.
The headmistresses and teachers were also happy for the visit to their schools. They made requests regarding the needs of the pupils, the teachers and the schools. They were assured that their messages will be swiftly communicated to Her Excellency, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma. It all ended in praises.
