As 2023 general elections gather momentum, political gladiators and allies are scrambling for what the outcome will look like, with that setting the vehicular movement which is Political Parties in motion.
It was a happy weekend for the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo, as another Iroko was attracted to the party, in the person of Prince Emma Alaribe, who is the President General of Amaimo Ancient Kingdom, an Ex Secretary General of IMO State PDP, and Special Adviser Political to Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The event which took place at Umueze Primary School, Amaimo in Ikeduru LGA, saw to the defection of over 4,000 for of Prince Alaribe, from the 12 INEC Wards.
In his confirmation speech to the decampee, the State APC Party Chairman, Prince Barrister Malcolm Nlemigbo, said he welcomes Prince Alaribe with open heart, adding that as the only moving vehicle and political party in Africa, the party will work with Alaribe for the betterment of all MBAIKE people and Imo State at large.
Prince Nlemigbo added that haven gone through the process of registering from his ward chapter as confirmed by the poling both 14 and 15 APC chapter Chairmen and other leaders of the Party from Ikeduru, he handed to Prince Alaribe the symbol of the Party for to acceptance into the family.
Earlier in his speech, the Owerri Zonal Leader of APC and a true son of Ikeduru, Prince Charles Amadi (Chalvon) said that having Prince Alaribe joining APC is an advantage to the party because of his capacity as a grass root mobilizer. He added that as one family, they will work together to achieve success for the party.
Also speaking at the event, the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ikeduru LGA, Honorable Chief Tony Jude Iwuamadi, expressed happiness in the Person of Prince Alaribe who understands politics to join the ruling party in the State, he encouraged Prince Alaribe to live up to expectation, adding that the Peace, Love and Unity of the Party is paramount and sacrosanct for all members.
Iwuamadi added that as a new member he should endeavor to cue up to the vision of His Excellency Dist.Sen.Hope Odidika Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State and respect and accept the already established structures and leadership of the Party in the area.
Leaders who spoke in his favour includes Chief Sam Akah, one time Ikeduru LGA Council Chairman and Serving Commissioner for Owerri Zone in Imo State civil service Commission, Chief Anele Nwachukwu(Ability) The Owerri Zonal Woman Leader of APC Dr.Mrs. Clara Njoku, they all identified the qualities endowed in the Person of Prince Emma Alaribe and endorsed his membership.
Meanwhile in his acceptance speech the celebrant Prince Emma Alaribe expressed happiness for joining the ruling party at a time like this crone to the fact that the number 2citizen of the State Prof.Placid Njoku is his own brother, he can't afford to be in Opposition so that together the dividend of democracy will get to the grass roots in the area.
Prince Alaribe added that he didn't join the party for selfish purpose nor to drag position with any body but rather he is joining APC to help build a formidable party of 10/10.
In his interaction with the NEWSMAN reporter, Prince Alaribe outlined the good works of the present administration of Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma on Road infrastructure and prompt payment of workers salary, according to him he is astonished and impressed by the Governor's advancement to compare to his predecessors put together.
Alaribe further poured out joy for the dignitaries who graced his calling to join the APC family while assuring his followers that he will carry them along in the party.
Adding his voice the confirmation of Prince Emma Alaribe, the Chairman Akarachi Foundation Prince Akarachi Amadi said he joins other leaders of the Party in the State to welcome his brother into the family and expressed confidence in the Person of Prince Emma Alaribe and heavyweight in politics and service delivery, he added.
Personalities who witnessed the confirmation includes the 12 INEC Wards Councilors, Hon.Anyaehie Okamueme ex Ikeduru LGA chairman, Dr.Gabriel Onyekuru, representatives of Okada Unions of 24chapters in Ikeduru, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Amaimo Market Union Leadership, President Generals from Different Autonomous Communities in the area, the board members and executive of Integrity Group Initiative, various Youth Organizations in the area, cultural groups among others.
Highpoint of the event was confirmation of Prince Emma Alaribe into the ruling party, dancing performance by Amaimo Ancient Kingdom women cultural group.
