A Group codenamed “Umahi Progressive Vanguard ” comprising former Technical Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Executive Assistants to Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, have unanimously endorsed the State Chief Executive to contest the 2023 Presidential election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Members of the Group (all of Afikpo North Local Government Area extraction) previously served in Umahi administration when it came on board in 2015.
Addressing newsmen in Afikpo the Headquarters of Afikpo North Local Government Area at the weekend, the Leader of the Group Hon Emmanuel Oko Ibiam, said that the objective of the Vanguard was to showcase the giant strides of Governor Umahi ranging from Human Capital Development, Health , Eduction, Roads and Infrastructure among others.
Hon Ibiam reiterated that Umahi Leadership qualities in the overall transformation of Ebonyi State deserves to be replicated at the National level.
“Our resolution is that we would continue to work for Umahi, we would continue to propagate the good works he executed in Ebonyi State”
Earlier in his contribution the Secretary of “Umahi Progressive Vanguard” Engr Donatus Uche, said that the Group was poised to galvanise support for Engr Umahi during the 2023 Presidential election.
“We have found a special character in Governor David Umahi, we have seen a character that will serve Nigeria, he knows the solution to Nigeria problems.
Other members of the Group including Hon Okochi Kingsley, Engr Okah Odinaka Uhiom, Elder Joseph Arua, Hon Oko Green Gabriel, and Hon Elu Joseph Akpu all reaffirmed their support and Goodwill to Governor Umahi come 2023 election.
Receiving members of the Group at the Afikpo North Local Government Area Headquarters, the Chairman of the Council Barrister (Mrs ) Oby Oko Eyum, commended the members for the initiative and pledged her support.
The Chairman represented by the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) Mrs Linda Ibe, emphasized that the leadership qualities of Umahi has endeared him to generality of Nigerians.
“I commend the Group for championing the cause of Umahi come 2023 Presidential election, he has performed marvellously well in Governance, let everybody support him to aspire to higher position”
The Solidarity Road Walk took members of the Group round major roads and streets of Afikpo chanting Solidarity songs and messages in support of Umahi during the 2023 general election.
