The shared prosperity of His Excellency Gov. Hope Uzodinma has in no small measure brought an unprecedented breakthrough and remarkable developments in the entire Imo State such that even the opposition parties now appreciate the gains of having Gov. Uzodinma superintendenting the affairs of Imo state government.
Gov. Uzodinma has indeed changed the look of Owerri and it's environ by way of massive infrastructure and physical developments.
The proactive and people's Governor, Hope Uzodinma has achieved a great feat that no other Governor has been able to achieve in Imo State. Imo can now undoubtedly compete favorably with other major cities and States in Nigeria.
The people of Imo State are now very viable, responsive and participate actively in government unlike what the story was during the past administrations.
The two term national assembly lawmaker who represented Orlu Zone is undoubtedly a proverbial square peg in a square hole who has made great and uncommon history in the Nigerian politics with dividends of democracy equitably distributed amongst his people.
Gov. Uzodinma as an astute and effective lawmaker with proven integrity and political prowess, swung into action when he became the Governor, by gathering a handful of technocrats as members of his Cabinet to help drive his Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery policies which his government is anchored on.
The Governor has continuously and relentlessly changed the negative narratives left by his predecessors and showed great tact in his approach to governance by meticulously addressing critical issues that have never been implemented before, in order to ensure a better quality of life for the people of Imo State.
Gov. Uzodinma has reconstructed key roads such as Owerri to Orlu road, Owerri to Okigwe road, Naze, Nekede, Ihiagwa road etc in Imo State and most significantly has focused on addressing the causes of flood that had plaque the state over the years. This was achieved by the construction of underground tunnels and road side gullies that has ended flood in the State.
The Gov. in his quest to touch all nooks and crannies of the state, has remodelled Dan Anyiam Hand Ball Stadium for competitive sports activities, and football clubs have since been engaging in football matches in the stadium.
At the peak of Covid-19, the Gov. introduced well equipped mobile clinics with State of Art medical facilities to care for the health of the people in the grassroots, he also partnered with W.H.O. to start the health insurance program in Owerri to ensure quality health care services to Imo people.
Still on health, the Governor also partnered with USAID to improve the operations and delivery of Water and Sanitation services to enable a healthy lifestyle for Imo people.
In the oil sector, the Governor has recovered 43 oil Wells from Rivers State government and the oil wells now belong to Imo people, meaning that more revenue now accrue to Imo people. He also commissioned the 5000 barrels per day water Smith Modula Refinery with a kick off of 45,000 barrels per day at Obogwe Ohaji-Egbema local government.
Gov. Uzodinma also saved N800 million of ISOPADEC money within his two months of assumption of office by ending the misappropriation of allocations meant for the oil producing communities.
In Youth Development, the Governor has provided a whopping sum of N4 billion for the empowerment of 15,000 Imo Youths with the sum of N250.000 each, as a stimulus to cushion the effect of Covid 19 on the economy.
These and lot more that have been put in place in Imo, are the numerous ways the Governor has redefined the state since his emergence.
