The member representing Ikwo/Ezza-south federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, OON has expressed joy and warmly congratulated the newly appointed members of the Caretaker Committee of Ikwo Development Union (IDU) chaired by Dr Sam N. Egwu.
Hon. Ogah stated this in Abakaliki on reception of the good news and unprecedented gesture on the appointment of over seventeen members of the committee by the executive chairman of Ikwo Local government area, Elder Hon. Stephen Orogwu.
He supports the developmental process of appointing elders who would oversee the affairs of the council and eulogized the council boss for being politically neutral in making the appointment. He encourages and commends his wisdom and guidance in doing so. He however, urged the committee members to work in synergy regardless of individual political inclination, so as to make progress.
"I am urging all the appointed to join hands together and make Ikwo a better place to live, and let the appointment be the foundation of progress, unity, peace and love among the people. There has never been development and implementation of the ideas and suggestions in a community where crisis and misunderstanding exist.
"As you people have been inaugurated, I promise to contribute my abilities and experience to ensure that your tenure is successful and profitable, as leadership is all about ideas and different opinions combined together. Bear in mind that leadership is not about titles, positions, or flow charts. It is about one life influencing another.
"I urge everyone of you to set aside political party affiliation for Ikwo Local Government Area to enjoy everlasting peace, and all hands must be on deck to achieving this very aim and objective".
Hon. Comrade Ogah wishes the committee a successful tenure in office.
