Douglas: the pride of the city and commercial hub of Owerri. Over the years, Douglas Road began experiencing cracks, potholes and the next thing, a closure. Economic activities crumbled; further dilapidation on the road led to a total collapse of law and order as criminals and hoodlums converted it to their home and hunting ground.
Today, the Reconstruction agenda of the Shared Prosperity Administration has transformed Douglas Road to such a beauty as can been seen. The road which had been impassable is now graced by road users, economic growth has returned with law and order. This was made possible by the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
