The Honorable Member representing Onuimo, Okigwe and Isiala Mbano federal constituency at the national assembly, Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha, whose Free Medical Outreach in her Constituency and its environs has gloriously ended, as many testimonies abound from beneficiaries cured of their various ailments.
Successes were hugely recorded in the three(3) days free medical care, which is an indelible mark and being considered as the biggest and first of its kind in East of the Niger. The free medical exercise was carried out at the various local government areas that made up Okigwe North federal constituency. It was Flagged off at Okwelle Health Center, Onuimo and conducted at Imo State University Teaching Hospital Anara, Isiala Mbano and Okigwe General Hospital respectively.
It's on record that over 140 surgery Cases were performed successfully without Complications, ranging from Hernia,Lipoma, Appendicitis, Various growth/Lumps e.t.c, Eye problems ranging from Refractive Errors, Glaucoma, Amblyopia and Age-Related Macular Degeneration e.t.c was attended to, also over 3000 persons with Malaria, Typhoid, Diabetes, Fever and other sicknesses were instantly diagnosed and free medications given to them. The free Medical care was carried out by over 80 medical personnels drawn from all branches of health sciences and medicine.
Speaking at the event, Hon Princess Miriam reassured her constituents that their health and basic needs are her utmost priority and she will do all within her power to make sure that Okigwe North federal constituents have a good health at all times, she equally applauded the Governor of the state, Sen.Hope Uzodinma for his support to all her activities/programmes, and thanked him for the good work ongoing at the Owerri/Okigwe Road, which connects the three local government areas she represents and also made movement easy for the Free Medical care.
Conclusively, her magnanimity equally made it possible for the following items to be distributed to the patients to take care of themselves; mattresses, Duvets, mosquito treated Nets and Cash gifts. She also assured them that quality & routine follow-up will be carried out to ensure that their ailments are completely cured.
