Our attention has been drawn to a malicious piece of article making the rounds in some social media platforms signed by an 'AIF Media', a contraption, propagating Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah's candidacy with the Youth Progressive Party (YPP), for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election in November.
In the said article, the media made unfounded claims about the good person of Sen. Andy Uba (MFR), his campaign team and our great party, All Progressives Congress, (APC).
As a responsible, responsive and mature campaign organisation, the Andy Uba Campaign Council (AUCC), didn't make it a habit to respond to every rant from camp of every political loser.
We are, however, compelled to make an answer to AIF Media and by extension, their paymaster, Ifeanyi Ubah, the 'over grown baby' of Anambra politics, on account of some very dangerous sentiments he has attempted to introduce into the body politics of Ndi Anambra.
We are particularly baffled as to how AIF Media arrived at that bogus statistics claiming that 98 percent of members of Sen. Andy Uba's campaign team are foreigners to Anambra.
How is that even possible given the unique peculiarities of Anambra, its demographics and politics? It is a known fact that Anambra is about the only state in Nigeria where, given the depth and diversity of its human resources, every local government can function independently as a state.
Narrow minded chief executives that have managed Anambra state have been blindsided by this singular reality into reducing the whole of Anambra to their own locality.
That same issue, as we can see, has confounded Ifeanyi Ubah. That he knows only our able DG, Chief Paul Chukwuma, out of the many vibrant Anambrarians working in AUCC doesn't mean that we are 98 percent foreign to Anambra. What it means is that Ifeanyi Ubah, his AIF Media and YPP are still too shallow in thinking.
This is not what Anambra needs. As many reports we bear him out, Sen. Andy Uba (MFR), has consistently stated that he wants to run a fully inclusive government that will carry all Anambrarians along. This is why our campaign team is peopled by state indigenes from all parts of Anambra.
AUCC will also not join issues with AIF Media on that cheap point it attempted to make about Imo state and the outcome of its governorship tussle at the Supreme Court. As mature politicians, we understand that politics and polity differ from state to state, and standing in Anambra to make judgement call in what transpired in Imo state, in our opinion is out of character with our cultural ethos as Ndigbo.
Moreover, His Excellency, Hope Uzodinma is the leader of APC in South East, and by virtue of his position, he is the one to lead our National Campaign Committee, and will be assisted by His Excellency, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State. Also Anybody that truly knows the party Apc very well should as well know that the party always have a National Campaign Council and as well a state campaign council for every state gubernatorial elecions. So, we are not responsible for AIF /YPP Ifeanyi Ubah's blindness to some political realities because the last time we checked YPP is a mere local government party not a national party like APC .
A man does not leave his burning hut to pursue a rat fleeing from the flames.
So we advise AIF Media to leave Ndi Imo and face Anambra politics.
But again, it is rather curious that Ifeanyi Ubah would approve such empty and sanctimonious article on Distinguished Sen. Andy Uba (MFR), given that he, Ifeanyi Ubah, doesn't even begin to measure up to our candidate in character quotient.
Is it not the same Ifeanyi Ubah that has the legendary reputation of owing staff salaries in Capital Oil, owes more than three years salary to staff of his short lived Authority Newspaper, and now relegated Ifeanyi Ubah FC?
Is it not the same Ifeanyi Ubah who has been running from agents of AMCON on account of the abysmal debt he owes?
Anambra State cannot afford to give its mandate to a well verified and certified debtor whose stock in trade is to scam and indulge in illicit oil businesses, thereby denting the image of Anambarians worldwide.
Ifeanyi Ubah is one of the persons that grounded the workings of oil companies which the government at the center is trying to fix up.
Him and his irks have made sure that our youths are denied massive jobs in oil and gas industry because he believes in only expanding his shores instead of investing in people.
Ifeanyi Ubah has never empowered anybody positively in his constituency or within Anambra State even as he claims to be a billionaire.
A billionaire without impact to his people. He should be ashamed of his non-performance even as a Senator.
Nobody from his relegated Ifeanyi Ubah F.C has progressed, players and coaches keep quiting the club due to maladministration and non payment of his club commitment to Nigeria Football Federation League.
He once travelled to Aston Villa in England to coerce with his co-scammers and came to Nnewi to hoodwink our youngsters that he will be taking them for trials as footballers in English Premier League, but alas, he duped many of them till date.
Is that the type of man Ndi-Anambra would vote for?
For Ndi Anambra, this is the time to be very careful of gimmicks of men like Ifeanyi Ubah, given what we have suffered in the past.
Under Chimwoke Mbadinuju, teachers were owed salaries in backlogs, pensioners were dying in numbers from lack of pay. Till date, there are still workers with Water Corporation of Anambra who have not been paid since Mbadinuju era.
Ndi-Anambra cannot afford to have another Mbadinuju as their number one citizen.
Certainly a man with baggages as big as Ifeanyi Ubah is not looking to solve our problems. He is coming to milk Anambra to pay up his debts.
AIF Media should please reach out to Cosmas Maduka, that illustrious Anambra son, on his dealings with its pay master.
Ndi-Anambra should reject the Grand Debtor who is an AMCON Debtor Candidate and his party, YPP.
