IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT IMO GOVERNMENT KICKS START MAINTENANCE OF ROADS ACROSS THE STATE

 


Inline with the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery mantra of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma's administration, the State Ministry of Works has kick started the phased maintenance of the underlisted roads across the State.


The Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu stated this in his office while fielding questions from newsmen on the plans of Government on maintenance of potholes developed roads in the State.


Ralph Nwosu noted that the phased maintenance of these roads is in accordance with the operation zero potholes policy embarked upon by the State Ministry of Works for continued life span of Imo existing roads.

The Works Commissioner however has warned that the maintenance of these roads must be done inline with the engineering best practices adding that Government won't tolerate sharp practices by any contractor aimed to shortchange Imo people.


He stressed that the ongoing maintenance of roads in the state capital will continue to come in phases and will cut across the state while  reiterating government resolve in providing dividends of democracy to her citizens.


Ralph Nwosu charged the contractors carrying out the road maintenance excercise to put in their best towards delivering quality jobs as development partners and not as business men, he added.
