The Management ISOPADEC today announced that His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma's has gracious granted approval for the resumption of payment of monthly subventions to statutory bodies in the oil producing areas of Ohaji /Egbema,Oguta, and Oru East, LGAs of Imo State.
The Statutory Bodies to benefit includes:-
▪ ISOPADEC Youth Confederation
▪ ISOPADEC Women Association, ▪ ISOPADEC Association of Physically Challenged Persons and
▪ Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON).
It will be recalled that the payment of subventions to these afore-listed Statutory Bodies was put on hold by past governments who cited paucity of funds as reason.
Speaking on the development in his office, an excited ISOPADEC Managing Director, Chief Charles Orie noted that in the light of this latest approval, Governor Hope Uzodimma has once again demonstrated uncommon interest in the welfare of the people of the oil producing areas of Imo State.
An elated Chief Orie stated that his happiness on the resumption of payment of the subvention is because it coincided with the Commission's revolution in infrastructural development with the massive rollout of transformative projects and initiatives across the oil producing areas. He revealed that the foundation of the new accomplishments were anchored on a new regime of probity, fiscal discipline and excellent financial management.
The ISOPADEC M.D called on the leadership of the various Statutory Bodies and Associations to ensure that they run an inclusive administration which carries all their members along, and align their programmes in such a way that the funds released to them are utilised towards economically empowering their teeming members. Chief Orie reminded them about the consequences of mismanagement and misuse of the accrued subventions, which include delay or denial of subsequent disbursements, which penalties the Commission is poised to enforce.
He concluded by assuring all ISOPADEC stakeholders of the Commission's determination to continue to uphold its core mandate of discharging its statutory duties and obligations to its employees, the stakeholders and Government in a balanced manner, while soliciting their support, understanding and cooperation.
