It was a joyous moment for the people of Luwe Nneiri of Isiala Mbano LGA and its environs when the imo Governor’s Wife, Barr Chioma Uzodimma visited the area for the commissioning of a bungalow built for an indigent widow in the area. Receiving the First Lady who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, the TC Chairman, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Prince Chika Okoroike said “this is prosperity in action which further defines a scope of prosperity as a government and the Wife of the Governor, in her large-heartedness, is moving in the direction of that prosperity.” Okoroike explained that the prayer request of Mrs. Emilia Obilor that she needed roof over her head more than security, during their prayer meetings, broke protocol and reached Her Excellency’s ears. Imo First Lady listened and ensured that this building was erected for her in place of the dilapidated hut she lived in.
In her remarks to the recipient, while commissioning the two-bedroom bungalow, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu said “I was sent by Imo First Lady, Her Excellency, Barr Chioma Uzodimma to give you the message that, it is well with you.” She prayed for God’s continued peace, protection and provision to the occupants of the house. Ugwu commended the Transition Committee Chairman and the good people of Isiala Mbano for their support and large turnout to the event, as she said, “I thank the capacity TC Chairman and his wife; they identified the need in the area, reported to Her Excellency and now this woman has a home of her own. Imo First Lady plans to do the same in other LGAs.”
Dedicating the House, the Archdeacon of Umuduru Archdeaconry, Ven. Dr. Christopher C. Onyemerekam thanked God for Imo First family and Isiala Mbano First family, and for all those he used to facilitate the building and prayed for more blessings upon them. Some others who spoke at the occasion included Chief Barr Chima O. Awurum, Lady Joy Mbawuike, Mrs Jacinta Oriji, who unanimously agreed that the Shared Prosperity government of Senator Hope Uzodimma has gladdened the hearts of their people through this kind gesture. In his closing remarks, Rev. Gordon Onukwugha urged all to practice pure and undefiled religion by helping those in need, while he described Imo First Family as compassionate people, who helped the widow at the point of her need, adding, “tell them this is serving God as in Matthew 5:31.”
Presenting gifts to Imo First Lady on behalf of Aladimma Women in Luwe Community, the Chairperson, Evang. Uchenna Okoroike expressed relief and gratitude that Her Excellency, the Governor’s wife has made the dreams of the poor widow come true. “His Excellency the Governor and Ezinne Ndi Imo has the unalloyed support of Isiala Mbano women.” She assured. On her part, the widow, Mrs. Emilia Obilor was speechless. She could not hold back the tears of joy as she danced and praised the Lord.
Also present at the occasion were the SA to the Wife of the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Humphrey Ikeaka and his counterpart on Media, Princess Amarachi Anyaehie, the Chairpersons of some Local Governments led by Mrs. Chizoba Okoliogwo, Women Groups in the area and a host of other invitees. Climax of the occasion was the cutting of tape by Commissioner Ugwu, and inspection of the house.
