Over the years, we have been without power in Okigwe. This obstacle has prevented the zone from gaining from the fast growing economic development in the other zones of our state.

 

Upon assumption of office 10 months ago, we swung into action, meeting and dialoguing with several power stakeholders and agencies to rectify the problems.

It's my pleasure to bring to your notice that as we speak direct line is being drawn from the Ohiya, Umuahia Substation to Malaysia market by NDDC while EEDC will take it up through Ihitte Uboma to Ehime Mbano straight into the National Open University Nsu freeing Obowo line completely boosting power supply in Okigwe South and it’s environ.

Meanwhile, a mobile Transmission station will be situated at the Okigwe Sub Station facility by TCN to power the whole of Okigwe, Onuimo, isiala Mbano, Arondizuogu and Orlu axis freeing Egbu Substation to feed owerri axis.

The mandate you have given to us will keep yielding good results to the glory of God, Amen
