Abakiliki- South East APC Young Progressives Forum has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Progressives Governors and The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) for reassuring the Party that APC National Convention will hold as scheduled on 26th March, 2022.
This was contained a message released to the Newsmen by the National Cordinator of the Forum, Comrade Paschal Candle in Awka Anambra State.
Comrade Paschal Candle thanked Mr President and The Governors for their sincerity of purpose in making sure that this Convention takes place by March 26, 2022. Comrade Paschal Candle maintained that the Party will now have time to look at issues as it concerns post-Convention differences and the best possible way to resolve them on time before Presidential Primary and 2023 Elections.
Reacting to APC Zonal Arrangements in the Party, The Group commended the Party Leadership at the National for giving South East very sensitive Positions in the Party like Deputy National Chairman (South), National Treasurer, Deputy National organising Secretary, National Welfare Secretary amongst others. This is a good offer for the Zone considering the fact that South East is laying serious claim to Nigerian President of Igbo extractions. These Positions allocated to South East in the National Working Committee has shown that APC really want to integrate Ndi Igbo into Nigeria Politics. We are grateful to Mr President, Progressives Governors and Senator Ken Nnamani for standing up for South East interest.
Reacting to The rejection of The Offices Zoned to South East by some Persons and groups. The National Cordinator, Comrade Paschal Candle Described those behind the rejections as not Members of APC in any State. They are just busy bodies and Meddlesome interlopers.
One of the Groups, Coalition of South East APC, he maintained that no such group exist either at APC National or South East APC Zonal Office for they are unknown to the Party. He described the Spokesman of the group, One Iyke Oliobi as Ex- Member of APC in Anambra State, who has been expelled from the Party Long time in his State Anambra State. For avoidance of doubt, this is the records of his disciplinary action by the Party during the Tenure of Chief Basil Ejidike and it is on record till date that he has not been recalled to the Party. So, how can he be speaking for The Members of the Party he is not a member in the first place. *see attached the documents of his expulsion from the Party two years ago.*
We urge the Progressives Governors and CECPC to disregard the group for they are being sponsored by one PDP Member who claimed to be contesting for National Secretary when the Party has not made its Position on Zoning public. How can somebody be contesting for a Position, when it has not been officially zoned to any zone. We stand with the decisions of the Party Leadership and we, as a Progressive Forum, stand with the Party for Party is supreme over any individual ambition. We challenged the faceless group to make public where South East Leaders sat and took a decision about National Secretary. We
We also commend Senator Ken Nnamani for his Leadership as South East APC Representative in CECPC. He has done well and has used his wealth of Experience as Former Senate President to bring Sanity in the Party. As a Forum, we will support him if he intends to go for the National Deputy Chairman (South), which is zoned to South East now for we believe he will do well and represent us well at the National Working Committee of the Party.
Comrade Paschal Candle called on the Progressives Governors not to be disturbed by those noise making, for the group is incapable of doing APC any harm. They do not belong in the Progressive family. We believe Our Convention will hold as scheduled and we will come out of the convention more United, stronger and love, the Statement ended.
