Deacon ldeato urges Christians to participate in electoral process for equity in 2023

As Nigerians build up for another change of baton in the Presidency come 2023, an lmo State-born political pragmatist, advocate, preacher of the gospel and Convener, Nigeria for Jesus Movement as well as member 61- Member Contact/Strategy Committee for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Deacon ldeato C ldeato Okoli has urged christians, religious leaders and all men of good conscience across the country, South East in particular and in diaspora towards  reawakening their political consciousness as full participants in the national electoral process to enthrone equity, equality, democracy and sustainability for a better society  through the emergence of Nigeria President of South East extraction in 2023, according to him,  by the special grace of God.

The ldeato North-born political strategist and APC Chieftain made his feelings known while delivering a lecture at the just-concluded convention organized by Heaven Link Believers lnternational Network (HELBIN) in Owerri, the State capital, on the theme: "Re-awaken the Giant in You".Deacon ldeato who spoke on the topic, *The Roles of Christians towards a better Society and Family"* , declared that Christians participation in politics is

non-negotiable, expedient and imperative if the people must strive in building just a society on the core values of equity, equality, democracy and sustainability.

He further enjoined Christians to always be part of the struggle for a good society structured to enable them evaluate political ideals, actions that run counter to the core societal values of equity, justice, fairness and sustainability for the common good of all the people.

The man of God in his stead whose political, academic and religious trajectory  has remained a source of inspiration to the younger generation, sounded it loud and clear that come 2023 when it will be 53 years after the civil war that apparently shut the South East race out of power at the center in the country, equity demands that power shifts to South East that is yet to taste the presidential seat. He reiterated the need for Christians to play their roles effectively by actively getting involved in the political activities in the country, if they must influence the system through elections. He further noted that Christians must ensure they participate in the ongoing electronic voter registration and learn how to be patient, citing 2nd Chronicles chapter 1: 9-11 as a clear reference to his assertions.Deacon ldeato Okoli who was honored at the convention as Ambassador Extra Ordinary in Kingdom/Humanitarian Services by the President and members of HELBIN, further highlighted generosity, responsibility, civility, education and participation, as another core ways to make a better society, emphasising that Christians must be deeply involved in the practice of the principles upon which good governance can be built on.

The newly crowned Ambassador Extra Ordinary for Christ who has so many recognitions in his kitties based on his Excellent Kingdom and humanitarian services strongly held that Christians and lgbos must avoid being like 'dots' scattered all over the nations and the world but must now begin to connect the lines to those dots wherever we are as a potent political force never seen before or witnessed to determine our destiny and equitable political future for this great nation in 2023,as according to him,

"Together we can".He added, according to the book of Matt. 5:16 which is also part of HELBIN gospel," let your  'light shine", queering, how can the light of the Christians shine when they are not involved in the political process? "How can the light of the Christians shine when they are not even registered to vote on who becomes the councilor, the Local Government Chairman,  the Governor,  House Members, the Senators and indeed the President? In his words, "That command let Your light shine can only be validated in our nation and the society at large when Christians get involved and understand not only the rudiments of democracy but their fundamental rights and privileges in a democratic society with their full participation.

Concluding, he said, "the power of God follows his words when it is  backed up by our actions. It is only through our actions and complete and unconditional participation through the electoral process that our light will shine to produce the expected and required result of a Nigeria President of South East extraction in 2023 by the special grace of God. Yes we can. All power belongs to and comes from God. Jesus is Lord".
