Hon. Iyke Njoku PhD, who is also the former chairman of Aboh Mbaise LGA made the statement when he introduced Chief Jerry Chukwueke to APC state executive led by MacDonald Ebere PhD on Thursday 7/4/2020 at the party secretariat, Okigwe Road, Owerri.
Speaking, Chief Jerry Chukwueke fondly called Ohamadike, philosophically chronicled his life journey as a former goalkeeper for Spartans FC of Owerri and by his professional training, he is the last line of defence who will not let in any goal against Owerri zone.
Speaking further, he said as a night watchman in the United States of America, his profession ensure that he keeps vigil to watch over people of Owerri zone. He reminded IMO people that he is a regular guy, who at the age of 17 with Spartans FC, has served and made sacrifice for Nde Imo through the round leather game.
In the area of business he said, his company Germaine group of companies with two other companies Chevron Oil and VGC are pathfinders of "Lekki", the largest mega city in Africa according to President Buhari. He promised to recreate his visionary leadership by replicating the Lekki Mega City model in diverse ways if given the opportunity to represent Owerri zone in the Senate.
Continuing, the great mobilizer said in the first one year in office, his Constituency office will be a beehive of activities with a functional ICT center, health and mobile clinic, employment register and a diaspora office that will partner with our brothers and sisters abroad in the areas of diverse investment portfolios.
Chief Jerry Chukwueke told APC state executives that he is the man the cap fits the most to address issues on LEGISLATION, OVERSIGHT and CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS for good governance. He further said, because of his experience, private sector background and reach in politics which he said, will be critical in mobilizing the party for the general election. He also said that political players and pundits can attest to the fact that he has a deep rooted passion to serve and make a difference in the lives of his people. He made a solemn vow, that Owerri zone will never beg him to do what is expected of him.
Chief Jerry told party leaders that he has no grudge against anyone and has forgiven those who have nothing to offer than blackmailing and maligning the character of their perceived opponents. He said experience has shown that at some point in the political process you will need all hands on deck to deliver the party candidate.
The need for common sense and cordiality in electioneering campaigns was amplified by the state party chairman Hon MacDonald Ebere PhD and Owerri zonal leader Hon. Justice Ogu JP. In his comment, the state party chairman expressed appreciation to Owerri zone for the high level of awareness and political activity towards this forthcoming elections. He challenged Okigwe and Orlu zones to do same.
Speaking further, the party leader told aspirants to go out there and market the party and present their manifestos to the people, insisting that the party is taking note of everyone's efforts. He said the party is watching and scoring every aspirant on their merits. He said they should disregard any aspirant who will claim that the governor has given him or her the senatorial ticket. According to the state party chairman, the governor has not anointed any particular aspirant but that at the fullness of time, decision will be made on merits. He further said APC with him at the helm of affairs is neutral and will give all the aspirants a level playing field.
The Owerri zonal leader Hon. Ogu in his vote of thanks, urged aspirants to do their best as humans and be prayerful because only God makes people king.
