I LIKE YOUNG PEOPLE

I like young people immensely. They are agile, virile, strong, adventurous, and creative. 

Young people do not suffer things that encumber older people. 

They are the life wire of any country that is forward-looking and progressive. 

Development experts and economists have predicted that the next World super economic power will be Africa because of its young population. 

But in Nigeria, young people are an endangered species. 

They are jobless, unemployed, poor, and hungry. 

The young people bear the brunt of bad governance and visionless leadership that the country has suffered. 

I feel for the young people of Nigeria. 

I want to do something to lift young in my senatorial district because I believe that is the way to go. 

Therefore I want to devote all my endeavors to the lifting of young people. 

I want to mentor and prepare them for tomorrow, for the future. 

I like to develop them to prepare them for the future. 

A leader that fails to develop or prepare young people to take over the mantle in the future is living in a fool's paradise.

Inevitably young people will take over the leadership when the leader is no longer on the scene or becomes aged. 

Whether you like it or not, you must wither away, becomes infirmary by age. It is natural. 

So a good leader must prepare young people that will take over when he fades away. 

However, young people must make a conscious effort to support progressive leaders and politicians with their interests at heart. 

They must shun politicians and leaders who crave power for self-glorification. 

They must avoid leaders that crave power for the sake of vainglory. 

The remedy to the current gloom enveloping young people is to support visionary leaders. 

Today in this country, when you are principled, you are denounced and derided. 

In Nigeria, when you are in public service, don't steal money and are treated with ignominy by friends and relations alike. 

When you are in public service and do not compromise with evil people to compromise the country, you are a problem. But this shouldn't be. 

Therefore young people must look for honest leaders and politicians and partner with them to move the country. 

These are the only young people who can survive, make it, and become leaders of tomorrow.
