The malignant, bogus claim made by Emeka Ihedioha on the issue of Imo State debt profile is at best nauseating and in fact he now sounds like a broken record each time he brings up the concocted story of borrowing.
Ihedioha knows when to use his queerness to curry sympathy from unsuspecting public whenever his selfish ambition is at stake and this time it is obvious he has nothing new to tell his rented audience other than a rehearsed story about Imo State Government.
It is obvious that the Mbutu born career politician is mischievously seeking his way to Douglas House and in his desperation, needs a story to tell, just to paint Gov. Hope Uzodimma in the negative in a failed attempt to turn the people against him.
If after 3 years of Gov. Hope Uzodimma administration, Ihedioha could only dwell on borrowing as an issue against the present administration, it then confirms that Gov. Hope Uzodimma has done exceedingly well in every sector and aspect of the Governance.
While we appreciate Ihedioha’s testament of Gov. Uzodimma’s good governance, it calls for worry why he left those concerned, whom he claimed that their State Governor is borrowing excessively to gallivant in exile, just to narrate his malicious story to the diaspora. Obviously, he is aware that Imolites cannot fall for his gimmicks and we know who is who in Imo State.
He has played smart by half, this time around, by diverting the attention of “Obidients” after receiving a backlash from the group over his uncouth and derogatory remarks against another Igbo son, while in USA and to save himself has decided to talk about Gov. Hope Uzodimma, who since assumption of Office has refused to look back at Ihedioha’s illegal 7months in office of the Governor of Imo State.
It has again dawned on Ihedioha that the Governorship of Imo State is not for him and we empathize with him after all “Omemara ma chi ekweghi ya, Onye uta ata kwala ya” and so he has settled for the Auditor-General in exile, a job he has started wrongly, because he has never worked anywhere.
Let us remind Emeka Ihedioha that according to the report published by Debt Management Office Abuja, as at December 31st 2019, Imo State debt profile jumped to N169.7 billion during his 7months in office!
If he couldn’t tell his diaspora audience what he did with the money other than photo ops and hiring of propagandists from all over the country, it will be better than soliciting another opportunity to loot more because he lacks the moral grounds to accuse Gov. Hope Uzodimma of unbridled borrowing.
Only gullible minds and others who where not in Imo State during his 7months of ignominy can believe that Emeka Ihedioha was out to rebuild Imo State, rather than stomach infrastructure for his members.
How does anyone justify the fact that no road construction was was done, in 7months, while the so-called caterpillars, Graders and Pail loaders, running into billions of naira and meant for the 27 Local Government Councils, existed only on papers. Contract for construction of Council headquarters, which by the way, was not the urgent need of the State, gulped over 800 million naira, for each LGA and some were never done, despite being paid for, in full!
The phantom 27 stadium in 27 LGAs affirmed his love for white elephant projects means to siphon scare funds from state coffers.
If we are to give attention to the speculation championed by Emeka Ihedioha, anybody who has been to Imo State in the last 2 years can attest to the fact that the shared prosperity administration of Gov. Hope Uzodimma has changed the socio-economic landscape of Imo State through his developmental projects encapsulated in his 3R mantra.
It is no longer news that Gov. Hope Uzodimma has invested hugely in human capital development, road construction and rehabilitation, payment of salaries and pensions, empowerment of Youths, amongst various laudable achievements of his administration.
Therefore, if Emeka Ihedioha is still interested in his wishful thinking and tall dream of becoming the Governor of Imo State then he should focus on telling Imolites what he will do that he couldn’t do when he was in office and desist from clout chasing, using the good name of Gov. Hope Uzodimma because the hardworking Imo State Governor is more interested in governance than playing petty politics.
