 Minister Commends Imo Governor’s Digital Training Initiative for Youth

The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, has praised the Executive Governor of Imo State for his admirable efforts in delivering digital training to more than 20,000 youths in the state.

She sees this effort as a huge step in the right way, promising to improve youth employability, skill competence, self-reliance, and poverty alleviation.

Abuja City Journal reports that Governor Hope Uzodimma will preside over the graduation of 15,000 youngsters from Imo and beyond from Cohort 2 of the SkillUpImo Project on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

On February 22, 2023, the governor had graduated 5,000 youths trained in different digital skills such as front-end and back-end development, digital marketing, cyber security, data analytics, content creation, User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design, graphics design, tracking engineering, phone repairs and virtual assistance.

Ahead of the forthcoming Gubernatorial election in the state, Uzoka-Anite made a passionate appeal to the eligible voters and residents of Imo State to come out en masse and support a Governor who has consistently demonstrated a sincere commitment to the welfare and prosperity of Imolites. This digital training program is seen as a testament to the Governor’s dedication to empowering the youth and ensuring a brighter future for the state.
