WE DONT HAVE MONEY FOR CAMPAIGNS AND ELECTIONS - Imo State Pdp.
There are strong indications that Imo State PDP is presently suffering from paucity of funds regarding the coming governorship election in the state in which many party stakeholders have thus withdrawn their financial support to the party and her candidate. This was disclosed by a source within the party who pleaded anonymity adding that the chances of the party participating fully in the election process is very slim. He noted that the same reason was why the party could not carry out her campaign activities has earlier planned adding that party faithfuls are not even ready to go out for campaigns since the party and her candidate could not finance the cost of mobilisation, logistics and other expenses to make campaign rallies a reality.
This disclosure having made public gives credence to the reason why the party has resulted to false propaganda especially on the social media just to fight their way through. The inability of the party in Imo State to run campaign activities shown clearly the mismanagement nature of the party having being in power since 1999 up to 2020 when the supreme court ruled in favour of the APC and Governor Hope Uzodimma as the duly elected governor of the state at the time.
It is an height of irresponsibility and shameful for a party that was in power for about two decades whose members have benefitted from the state resources to find it difficult to finance an election not less than four years after leaving power. In the first place, PDP has been a curse to Imo State as the economic, infrastructural and all round development and growth that the state has witnessed in the less than four years administration of the APC and Governor Hope Uzodimma surpassed all the years the party has spent in power in the state. This is a big shame and an indictment on the part of the party.
It is actually understandable that party stakeholders in Imo State PDP withdrawn their financial support. This is because the party has failed the people overtime and thus shameful to come out and face the people knowing fully well that people would surely ask questions about their stewardship to the state when was in power. The party has nothing tangible to campaign with hence the reason why party stakeholders are not ready to waste their resources on a failed mission which is already a dead mission on arrival.
