The office of the Imo state Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, PhD, was spiritually lit today, as she received in courtesy, members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification of Nigeria.
Addressing the spiritual leaders, the Deputy Governor thanked them for the visit, especially, as it came at a day very special to the Government of Imo and the All Progressive Congress, APC, Imo state, having won the Election Petition Tribunal cases today.
Lady Ekomaru went ahead to assure the group, whose Imo state chapter is being inaugurated tomorrow of government recognition.
"We recognize you even before your official inauguration. Our government is an ecumenical government that allows everyone to freely worship God according to his/her faith.
The Governor is a devout catholic, I am an Anglican and many of us in the government are of different denominations. That shows how ecumenically balanced we are in Imo state.
Lady Ekomaru encouraged the group to go on with their inauguration in high spirit, that the government will see to their request.
"My Governor, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma is dynamic, compassionate and running a Shared Prosperity Government. I am sure that when he is presented with your request, if he doesn't grant all, he will at least grant one", the Deputy assured them.
The Leader of the group, Snr. Apostle Elder Victor Kalu, earlier in his speech, thanked the Deputy Governor for her patience as they came behind schedule. He said that they came to brief the government of Imo state of the official inauguration of the Imo state chapter of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification of Nigeria, which is coming up tomorrow in Owerri and also invite the government to the spiritual function. He also, on behalf of the group requested for government recognition, appealed for land allocation to build their center and also demanded for government's assistance to purchase a bus to ease their state and national activities.
Snr. Apostle Kalu while pledging their unalloyed loyalty and undiluted support for the government of Imo state also informed the Deputy Governor of their readiness to build Nursery, Primary schools and a School of Theology in the state once offered a land.
Adding his voice was the Ecclesiastical Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification, World Wide, Baba Aladura Adioye, who confessed his admiration for Gov. Hope Uzodimma and his Government. He prayed God to continue to give the Governor grace to continue his good work in Imo state. He also prayed against any force that may want to raise his head against the Shared Prosperity Government of Imo state led by Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
Some members of the delegation were; Apostle Luke Ozuzu, Apostle Evaristus Nwaneri, Snr. Apostle Nwakanma, Apostle Chinwe Akunna, Apostle Chimaobi Apostle Uchegbu, Apostle Nneji, Apostle Mbachuwa and others .
