The Episcopal installation on Friday, 20th of June 2024, was indeed an epoch making event and what the media referred to as perhaps the largest gathering of the clergy, the laity, the political creme, and top government officials in recent times.

The event marked the climax of chains of events that led to the shutdown of church activities by Rome, in the main due to the demand for a Bishop of Mbaise extraction by the locals.

In a statement released to the press, Chief Jerry Chukwueke Ohamadike said the event is a celebration of peace and quiet, which is critical to development and progress. He prayed for the enabling grace of God to be granted the new Bishop to win souls into the kingdom of God. The great mobilizer started with a private visit to the pastoral house on Thursday, climaxed with the inauguration of the new Bishop.

Chief Chukwueke and his entourage were afterward hosted to a lunch by his long-time friend and associate Barr. PGU Madu at his country home at Obohia-Ahiazu, Mbaise. In his appreciation remarks, the great mobilizer said that the event at Ahiara diocese is a celebration of peace, love, and forgiveness from a father to his children which should be replicated in all facets of our lives as Imolites in particular and Ndigbo in general. He said that this is more so because progress does not thrive in chaos. He described his host as a dear friend. He thanked him for the show of love towards him and his friends.

Speaking further, Ohamadike said that he is very proud of the amiable governor of IMO, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma, for his visionary and exemplary leadership with prudent management of scarce resources as his blueprint. He used the opportunity to appeal to politicians who are desirous to contest the 2027 governorship election to tune down the political heat to enable the People's Governor to remain focused on delivering the much needed dividend of democracy. He said peace and harmonious coexistence is the main thrust of the Ahiara celebration. He said further that we must make a conscious effort to de-emphasis things that divide us and imbibe an Imo centric disposition.
