*_THE CHAIRMANSHIP JOURNEY TO UMUNEKE, NGOR OKPALA BEGINS IN A GRAND STYLE:_*

In the midst of her fellow teeming passionate partisans and staunch supporters at Eziama/Okpala Ward 4, Ngor Okpala LGA, the sure political journey of Hon Chief (Mrs) Chika Ibekwe to the UMUNEKE LG Headquarters of NGOR OKPALA LGA as the duly elected Executive Chairman come 21st September, 2024 has begun with her formal declaration.

The formal declaration took place in a well-attended Eziama/Okpala Ward 4 meeting held on Saturday, 13th July, 2024 at the Central School Okpala Hall, Ngor Okpala.

In a passion-laden speech, the most popular Executive Chairmanship aspirant in Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon Chief (Mrs) Chika Ibekwe, narrated her chequered history in Politics. From her days as a spinster in Owerri Municipal to her early years in Marriage, when she strategically relocated her Politics to  NGOR OKPALA LGA, till now 23 fruitful years on, she said she has been passionately pursuing the noble course of Public service under the Political leadership of Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma. She took the UMUNEKE/OKPALA Ward 4 partisans on an emotional memory lane and pin-pointedly stated that the journey to today's political conquest in Ngor Okpala began at the Umuokoro Residence of Hon Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu (Ebekuodike). "I have served as a Party Executive and lastly contested fully for the House of Assembly by-election, but as a loyal Party faithful, I  hackened to the advisory of our Party hierarchies to stand down my aspiration", Hon Chief (Mrs) Chika Ibekwe explained.

In a moment of sobriety, Hon Chief (Mrs) Chika Ibekwe recounted how Umuneke/Okpala Ward 4 partisans had worked hard over the tortuous years of opposition, in unity and following their leadership, to ensure that they worked and voted massively for Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma amidst threats and self-denial.

"All these years that I have beckoned on you all to continue to work, vote and protect our votes through thick and thin, I have not been opportuned to effectively reward you all individually and collectively for your labour of love. I had thrived to do my possible best as a private citizen, the little I could and subsequently as a Senior Special Assistant to our Gov on Community Relations. For me, Politics is a platform to serve the people. I find the Office of Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala as competent enough to grant me a platform to serve NGOR OKPALA LGA and through that reward you all for being diligent and hardworking throughout these years of our political sojourn. I am a product of the Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma struggle; I know you all. This is our collective opportunity to advance the course of our Local Government and our people", Chief Mrs Chika Ibekwe enthused.

Offering to bridge the leadership gap through  transparency, tender motherly care, competence, capacity and reliable service to all NGOR OKPALA LGA people, without let and carrying everyone along, the number 1 aspirant did not mince her words in assuring her Ward of ensuring that human capital development and public infrastructure provisions shall form the fulcrum of her service to NGOR OKPALA LGA when elected.

"Let me assure you all of my competence, my capacity, my academic qualification, my political dexterity and the grace of God to work for you and with you to deliver a leadership you all shall be proud of in Ngor Okpala LGA.

To demonstrate his support and imprimatur on the aspiration of Hon Chief Mrs Chika Ibekwe, her husband, Engr Blessing Ibekwe symbolically presented his wife of over 23 years to the Ward Chairman, Mr Arthur Ozoemena praying that God blesses the aspiration of his wife to better the lot of Ngor Okpala through committed, true and reliable motherly leadership of the Council.

In what looked like a spur of the moment, numerous individuals spoke in absolute moral and financial support of the aspirant.

2) Hon Bishop Okereke

3) Chief Chi Nwosu

They included Mr Iyke Patrick Chigbu (Uchulu Autonomous Community) and Mr Pascal Onyenwe (Okpala Autonomous Community). The leadership of the Ward advised the two Councillorship aspirants to close ranks and within themselves, following the equity plan in the rotation of the Councillorship position, resolve between them who is to become the Candidate of the Party in the Ward. They maintained that the Ward's Candidate must be justifiably determined based on the agelong equity yardstick on Councillorship position.

Entertainment was lavishly enjoyed and all partisans in attendance left the meeting very happy, resolved to support and work assiduously towards the achievement of Chief Mrs Chika Ibekwe's Political journey to Umuneke Headquarters of Ngor Okpala LGA for the Chairmanship job.
