The Catholic Cathedral of Ahiara diocese was agog with lots of needy men and women awaiting the arrival of the great mobilizer and a true philanthropist, a devout Catholic, Chief Jerry Chukwueke (Ohamadike) who has been going round the State since one week feeding the hungry and putting smiles on their faces.
In his short address, Ohamadike encouraged them to continue to have faith in God and never to lose hope with the current situation of things in the Nation.
He opined that the reforms going on in the Nation will surely bring lasting economic greatness to them, he posited that the State Governor is also doing well and needs all the support to succeed citing example with the Egbu-Mbaise-Umuahia which has reduced dreadlocks and crimes on the axis during this yuletide.
Chief Jerry who has kick started the Catholic Provincial celebration with the needy through the Laity Council said he will be in Okigwe and Orlu Province in the coming days for the same gestures.
The Owerri Provincial President of the Laity Council, Hon. Placidus Onyedikachi Chijioke thanked Chief Jerry Chukwueke for remembering the Laity and starting with Owerri Province where he came from, he opined that every beneficiary is carefully selected and also seen as the most vulnerable.
He assured their guest of making sure the story of his benevolence is heard in all parts of the Catholic community in Nigeria.
Rev. Fr. Lacerian Iwu, the Cathedral Financial Administrator Ahiara diocese, prayed for the donor and blessed the items before effective and efficient sharing begun without rancour.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to us, expressed happiness and prayed to God to continue to bless Chief Chukwueke.
